Rocket Fuel Whiskey is the brainchild of my love for package design and my favorite movie and book, October Sky. The story takes place in the ‘50s, and I wanted it to echo the aesthetic of the time, all while giving it an aged and distressed feel (much like a relic you might find in a dusty old vintage shop). As an homage to one of my favorite films, I took some of my favorite quotes and symbols from the book and fashioned them into a tongue-in-cheek, unique collector’s edition whiskey series that, in my own personal hopes, would make Homer Hickam proud. This was a 2018 Silver Addy Winner at the American Advertising Awards, distributed by AAF Nashville.
